Each programme combines in-depth classroom learning with practical, on-the-job training, giving you the skills and experience to thrive in your field.

Entry Requirements
  • NQF Level 1 (grade 9) qualification with science & mathematics.
  • Qualifying for External Integrated Summative Assessment (Trade Test): In order to qualify for an external assessment, learners must provide proof of completion of all required modules by means of statements of results and work experience records, including Foundational Learning Competence.
  • Additional legal or physical entry requirements: Medical certificate of Fitness.

Year 1

Classroom & Workshop Training (3 months)

Start your journey with an in-depth foundation in both theoretical knowledge and practical skills at Fezamax. This training covers essential concepts and techniques critical to your development as a Trades Person.

9 months of Workplace Practical

After your initial training, we help secure a workplace host where you'll apply your skills under the mentorship of a qualified artisan and maintain a logbook of your experience. This workplace practical training is essential for gaining hands-on experience.

Year 2

Classroom & Workshop Training (3 months)

Deepen your understanding with more advanced theory and hands-on skills at Fezamax. This phase strengthens your technical abilities, equipping you for more complex challenges in the trade.

9 months of Workplace Practical

Continue your workplace experience, applying advanced skills. In your logbook you will continue to record the progress of your growing expertise as you tackle more complex tasks, further solidifying your capabilities in the trade.

Year 3

Classroom & Workshop Training (3 months)

Master advanced diagnostic techniques and in-depth systems analysis, focusing on efficiency and precision. This final phase of formal training equips you to handle the most complex mechanical issues.

9 months of Workplace Practical

In your last stretch of workplace experience, you’ll take on leadership in real-world projects, showcasing your ability to work independently. Continue refining your logbook as you prepare for the final trade test.

Training to Trade Test Graduation (EISA)

At the end of your training, you'll be eligible to apply for the External Integrated Summative Assessment (EISA), also known as the Trade Test

*In order to qualify for an external assessment (Trade Test), learners must provide proof of completion of all required modules by means of statements of results and work experience records, including LFC (Foundational Learning Competence). The FLC should also have been complete if indicated that it is required at the time of enrolment.

SELF FUNDED
BANK STUDY LOAN

Fezamax Training Academy is an accredited institution recognised by the Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET), qualifying our programmes for most major banks' lending criteria. This means self-funded learners can access various study loan options to finance their education. Here are key benefits and criteria:

  • Affordable Financing: Banks offer study loans with competitive interest rates and flexible repayment plans.
  • Tailored Loan Amounts: Loans can cover tuition, learning materials, and living expenses.
    Repayment Flexibility: Start repaying after training or securing employment, reducing immediate financial pressure.

Typical Bank Criteria:

  • Accredited Institution Requirement: Enrolment at a, Umalusi, QCTO, DHET, institutions – May vary by Bank
  • Age Requirement: Typically 18 years or older.
    Proof of Admission: Evidence of enrollment at Fezamax.
  • Income Assessment: Evaluation of income or guarantor’s income.
    Credit History: A good credit history may be required.
  • Residency Status: Must be a citizen or legal resident.
  • Pre-Approval Options: Many banks offer pre-approval to clarify borrowing capacity before enrolling.

NSFAS (National Student Financial Aid Scheme)

NSFAS provides funding for eligible students to cover tuition fees, learning materials, and living costs.

Easy Application Process: Students can apply online, and NSFAS assesses applications based on financial need, ensuring support is directed where it’s most needed.

No Repayment During Studies: Funding is provided as a loan, but repayment only begins once you are employed and earning above a certain threshold, allowing you to focus on your studies without immediate financial pressure.
