Year 1

Classroom & Workshop Training (3 months)

Start your journey with an in-depth foundation in both theoretical knowledge and practical skills at Fezamax. This training covers essential concepts and techniques critical to your development as a Trades Person.

9 months of Workplace Practical

After your initial training, we help secure a workplace host where you'll apply your skills under the mentorship of a qualified artisan and maintain a logbook of your experience. This workplace practical training is essential for gaining hands-on experience.

Year 2

Classroom & Workshop Training (3 months)

Deepen your understanding with more advanced theory and hands-on skills at Fezamax. This phase strengthens your technical abilities, equipping you for more complex challenges in the trade.

9 months of Workplace Practical

Continue your workplace experience, applying advanced skills. In your logbook you will continue to record the progress of your growing expertise as you tackle more complex tasks, further solidifying your capabilities in the trade.

Year 3

Classroom & Workshop Training (3 months)

Master advanced diagnostic techniques and in-depth systems analysis, focusing on efficiency and precision. This final phase of formal training equips you to handle the most complex mechanical issues.

9 months of Workplace Practical

In your last stretch of workplace experience, you’ll take on leadership in real-world projects, showcasing your ability to work independently. Continue refining your logbook as you prepare for the final trade test.

The purpose of this qualification is to prepare a learner to operate as an Automotive Motor Mechanic. An Automotive Motor Mechanic maintains, tests, diagnoses and repairs petrol and diesel light motor vehicles and the mechanical parts thereof including but not limited to drive trains, engines, fuel systems, electric and electronic systems, transmissions, suspension, steering and brakes.

The purpose of this trade qualification is to prepare a learner to operate as an Automotive Electrician. An Automotive Electrician tests, diagnoses, services, replaces, repairs and maintains automotive electrical wiring, electrical and electronic systems and their components.
The field of engineering fitting is characterised by the provision of engineering maintenance, repair and installation services and support in a variety of industries. The equipment requiring such service and support ranges from sophisticated equipment to antiquated single station machines.
The heavy equipment maintenance and repair industry provides essential services to users of heavy equipment. The main users in South Africa are the mining, construction, agricultural and forestry sectors. Heavy Equipment Mechanics perform a variety of skilled tasks which enable these economically significant sectors to use the equipment productively, cost-effectively and safely, so as to obtain the maximum benefit from their investment and to comply with legal obligations relating to the condition and use of the equipment.
A Workshop assistant removes, install and performs services on various heavy-duty vehicle sub-systems and its components (transmission, engines and related mechanical sub-systems). The Occupational Certificate in Heavy Duty Workshop Assistant will equip learners with skills and knowledge to provide workshop assistance, to ensure that vehicles are serviced in a productive, cost-effective, and efficient way.

Collaboration Models

Full-Time Integrated Model

Our Fezamax Operations Team integrates seamlessly into your school’s daily schedule, providing industry training and trade testing alongside regular classes. We also rent and maintain workshop facilities, ensuring they meet industry standards.

Part-Time Model

We utilise workshop facilities after school hours (14:00 - 20:00) for training and trade testing, catering to external companies and professionals. Students can also attend these sessions to enhance their skills while we ensure the facilities are well-kept.

ADHOC Agreements

Seeking fixed rate and duration agreements for after-hours workshop rental. This model provides consistent access for ad hoc training sessions, benefiting both the school and community partners while maintaining the facilities.
